Required Switch Settings for Edge Configurations

Use the following settings for Edge E_port and FICON ISL configurations:

• Port

– E-Port

– 2 Gb

• Switch Parameters

– Preferred Domain ID: 3 (any unique domain)

– Rerouting Delay: Disabled

• Switch Fabric Parameters

– R_A_TOV: 100

– E_D_TOV: 50

– Interop Mode: Open Fabric 1.0 or McDATA

Note: If McDATA Mode is used, you muct enable switch WWN proxy on the Edge. Only

McDATA mode is supported for McDATA i10K Director FICON cascaded switch

configurations with mulitple ISLs.

Note: When Open Fabric is used, only WWN zoning is allowed.

• Device connection: any port

• Allow/Prohibit

Note: Customers should consult with their McDATA representative to correctly configure

Allow/Prohibit.
